If there is a universal truth, it's that it is almost impossible to resist buying all of the holiday sweets from Trader Joe's. This box of peppermint cremes was in my cart 1.3 seconds after seeing it.
A 7-ounce box of Trader Joe's Dark Chocolate Covered Peppermint Cremes containing 15 candies costs $3.99.

The description on the box reads, in part, "Bite-sized discs with a creamy mint filling, enrobed in smooth, dark chocolate and topped with crushed peppermint candies."
The suggested serving size is two peppermint cremes.

Trader Joe's Dark Chocolate Covered Peppermint Cremes Review
He says (Mark): "Soft, creamy and minty bites." Yes, they are soft. The filling was indeed creamy and had an excellent texture. As to the minty, well…tooooooooooo mintyyyyyyyyyyyy. So much so that it was hard to tell if there was any chocolate. But I get it; the filling needs a shell. I liked the portion size and that the peppermint bits on the outside were not the extra hard type that makes a loud crunch and sticks to one's teeth. If these were the only sweets on a holiday spread, I'd take two, but I couldn't handle more.

She says (Bridget): A little background...I love a peppermint pattie (patty?). Both my mom and Nana loved chocolate peppermints, whether from York or Russell Stover, so they were always a treat around our house. I never understood the chocolate mint "tastes like toothpaste" hate...UNTIL NOW. Wow. OK. The creme texture is, in fact, like toothpaste. It's thick, gooey, and sticky. The peppermint flavor is incredibly strong and cloyingly sweet. (For me to say something is too sweet is, well, weird. I like sweet.) The dark chocolate is completely overpowered by the peppermint. I wonder what Mom and Nana would think.

Will we buy them again? Nope.
