While I love the idea of a freshly cooked breakfast, I'll be honest, I typically go the "grab something quick" route.
Trader Joe's always has some sort of frozen waffle in stock. (We haven't reviewed them, but I can tell you that I'm a big fan of their pumpkin waffles available in the fall.)
Trader Joe's Blueberry Waffles come frozen in a box of 8; recommended serving size is two. A box costs $2.29. Heating options listed are for toaster or oven. The box copy suggests not only serving these for breakfast but "...as a snack or tasty dessert topped with yogurt, ice cream or fresh fruit."

I love that Trader Joe's usually keeps its ingredients simple and natural, so I was a little surprised to see "blueberry flavored nuggets" in the ingredient list. The nuggets are made from "sugar, corn flour, palm oil, natural flavor, cornstarch, vegetable and fruit juice, and dried blueberries." Hmm.
Trader Joe's Blueberry Waffles Review
REVIEW (Bridget): Like most frozen waffles, these are a bit dry out of the toaster. Moist and fluffy waffles, these are not, but I know that going in when I buy frozen waffles. The blueberry aroma is lovely, and they do taste of blueberry. You'll need something for a topping. Butter, powdered sugar, peanut butter...something. My favorite way to eat them? Spread with Justin's Vanilla Almond Butter, thawed frozen blueberries, and a sprinkling of hemp seeds. Despite my mixed feelings about the "blueberry flavored nuggets" mentioned above, I do really enjoy these.
Overall rating: 4 of 5 stars
(Overall rating when prepared Bridget's way): 5 of 5 stars :)
Will I buy these again? Yes! I love having them on hand for a quick breakfast...or lunch!

When you have time to whip up a batch of homemade waffles, here are some great recipes to try:
- apple fritter waffles (completely delicious)
- pumpkin belgian waffles (as simple as that)
- neopolitan waffles (dinner at the zoo)
- cinnamon sugar waffles with cinnamon peanut butter maple drizzle (bake at 350)
