It's January...the month when my hands start crying out for hand cream. "Hey! Remember us! We're dry and crepey over here!" Every winter, it's the same - a quest to find a hand cream that works and is small enough to stash in my car or bag. 

In our Trader Joe's health and beauty reviews so far, we've been pretty impressed. Let's see how TJ's Ultra Moisturizing Hand Cream stacks up.

A 3-ounce tube of Trader Joe's Ultra Moisturizing Hand Cream costs $4.99. The description on the packaging states that it's made with "coconut oil, hemp oil & 20% shea butter." It's also paraben-free.

He (Mark) says: I don't use hand cream often unless it's cold and dry out (a rarity in the Houston area). For male hands, this is a good low-scent and non-greasy-feel option. I squeeze out a bead about 3/4" long and work it in thoroughly. If I'm going to use a smartphone or tablet right after, I wipe my palms briefly with a damp towel; otherwise, it soaks in entirely in a few minutes. If this came in a travel size, I'd take it on travel out of town. This is a winner.

She (Bridget) says: Thick and luxurious, this feels so good upon initial application. The thick texture really forces a hand massage to work it into the skin. Although I can't pinpoint the fragrance, the scent is light but noticeable. It smells like "hand cream." It stays on the surface of my skin for maybe 5 minutes, so I wouldn't use this right before getting dressed for fear of stains. When it does absorb, it keeps my hands soft and moisturized for a couple of hours. I'd love a smaller tube for my purse or car. I think this one will live in our junk drawer, and we'll actually use it, unlike the other four hand creams languishing in there.
