I have been on the LOOKOUT for these after seeing them pop up all over Instagram. Trader Joe's Sweet Cinnamon Filled Korean Pancakes seem to be taking the interwebs by storm!
Known as Hotteok, these pancakes are a traditional Korean street snack - served brown and crisp on both sides. They can be enjoyed for breakfast, snacks, or dessert. On the packaging, Trader Joe's offers a serving suggestion of making ice cream sandwiches out of two pancakes. While we didn't try that, the idea will definitely linger in my brain.

Each 12.7-ounce package contains 4 pancakes, serving size one. They sell for $3.99 per package. You'll find them in the frozen aisle. They're not with the breakfast items or desserts in our store but in a center freezer case where appetizers and seasonal meals are often highlighted.

Heating instructions include options for stovetop (from thawed), air fryer, or microwave/stovetop hybrid from frozen. I'm digging these microwave/stovetop heating instructions that I first saw pop up in the Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Bites.
I'm really intrigued by the "sweet potato mousse" listed in the ingredients. I'm guessing it's part of the pancake batter and not the filling. While these don't taste like sweet potato, I suddenly want to incorporate sweet potato mousse in all of my pancakes.
Trader Joe's Sweet Cinnamon Filled Korean Pancakes Review
She says (Bridget): Even though these are pancakes, they most reminded me of cinnamon sugar cake donuts. Each bite contains a cinnamon-sugar filling that is perfection - not too gooey, not too sweet, and stays in place. No squishing out when you take a bite. The pancake texture is drier than a traditional American pancake and cooked until crisp on both sides. I like that. My one and only issue is the serving size - I wanted more than one.

While both of the guys tried these and liked them, neither had an "OHMYGOSH, PLEASE GIVE ME ANOTHER"-type reaction.
Would I buy them again? As good as they are, I don't think they're something I'll keep stocked in the house. That said, you have to try them at least once!

Oh, and if you're curious about that nail color...it's MG from Olive & June, and it's my new favorite.
