It seems like 15 years ago, I started reading about facial mists being recommended for use after a long flight. I'm pretty sure the facial mist was from Evian...maybe from the same era when I read that Demi Moore was using Evian to wash her hair. According to Love and Mascara, Evian Facial Spray was introduced in the US in 1978! Who knew?!? Anyway, I thought I'd never be fancy enough to spray my face with a micro-mist of water. Y'all. We can be fancy now.
Facial mists are more and more common, and I could not resist picking up this Watermelon Facial Mist from Trader Joe's. A 3.4-ounce spray bottle costs $3.99.
If you need reading glasses like I do, let me highlight some of what is printed on the bottle...it's a little hard to read. The mist contains "...a bevy of botanical ingredients derived from...watermelon." It claims to keep skin looking glowing and dewy.
The top three ingredients are water, watermelon seed oil, and rice oil. It also includes many other ingredients, including jojoba, "watermelon fruit water," and hibiscus flower extract.
Trader Joe's Watermelon Facial Mist Review
REVIEW (Bridget): Ah, I do feel quite fancy using a facial mist. On a hot summer day, the fine mist is refreshing and cooling on my face and neck. The scent is prominent but not super long-lasting. I imagine this scent would be a hit with the tween/teen market. I'd definitely prefer an unscented spray as it doesn't exactly mesh with my perfume. I tested it on one hand and compared it to my unsprayed hand to see if I could see a "dewiness," and yes! The mist does give a little glow.
Overall rating: 4 of 5 stars
Would I buy it again? Maybe not for myself, but as a little gift for a teen/tween girl? Yes!
Trader Joe's Watermelon Facial Mist Review: Nice and refreshing for summer or travel. Give me a version that's unscented or smells like a spa, and TJ's might have mist that's 5-star worthy!
