Trader Joe's Pure New Zealand Artesian Water Review

Trader Joe's Pure New Zealand Artesian Water Review

Am I reviewing bottled water? Yes. Is that weird? Maybe also yes.

A few years ago, I developed a slight obsession with FIJI water while on a road trip. It tasted so much better than any other bottled water I'd ever had. That said, it was pricey. I want to spend my pennies on CHOCOLATE, not water.

Trader Joe's Pure New Zealand Artesian Water Review

When I saw this Pure New Zealand Artesian Water at Trader Joe's, I knew I had to try it. The water comes in gallon jugs and costs $2.99, making it more affordable than my beloved FIJI, but how does it taste?

[NOTE: On my last visit, I asked a TJ's employee about the hit or miss stocking of New Zealand Artesian Water. She explained that the shortage is two-fold: 1. shortage of plastic packaging and 2. difficulty with transport. Fear not if you can't find it...it has not been discontinued.]

The copy on the bottle reads, " ...Pure New Zealand Artesian Water bubbles to the surface under its own pressure...from an ancient aquifer 600 feet before the surface of the earth...We've added nothing and taken nothing away..."

REVIEW (Bridget): Crisp, clean, and smooth, this New Zealand Artesian Water is exactly what I was craving! It seems crazy to have a "favorite" water, but this is mine. I love that there are no other flavors in the water - no salt, no sugar, no minerals - just water. I love the larger size and the top handle for easy carrying. This is flat water as opposed to bubbly and is just perfect for everyday drinking.

Overall rating: 5 of 5 stars

Will I buy it again? Yes! Several gallons at a time!

  1. Well it is no longer $2.99 a gallon but now $3.99 a gallon. Are you still going to indulge?

  2. Tim...ABSOLUTELY! It's still a bargain compared to other bottled waters, and fewer bottles to recycle!

  3. Do you know if the silica content has been measured?

  4. It has sodium in it though, is that healthy?

  5. Anon...It's not added sodium. It's naturally occurring.

  6. Are the bottles BPA free and if so, have they always been?

  7. The water is way better than the water that comes from the faucets in Portland.

  8. Bought the first bottle..gone in 2 days! ABSOLUTELY the CLEANEST water I've ever had! I'm praying that we'll always be able to get it. There were only2 left other shelf. Had I known how good it is, I'd have purchased all.
